Youtube and Internet Marketing
Youtube and Internet Marketing
I recently heard that the second to Google, YouTube receives the most amount of Searches. So YouTube is a vital part of any Internet Marketers arsenal.
Youtube Channels
The best advice for YouTube channels is to get one! It’s really easy to set up, just go to youtube . com and click Sign Up near the top right. All of the normal keyword advice still goes with Youtube, so choose your name carefully!
YouTube Channel Names
When you have signed up for YouTube you can create videos in your own YouTube channel. A YouTube channel is effectively a folder where all of your videos are stored. When you set up a channel make sure you choose your channel name carefully. For example if your company is called ABCDE Ltd and sells blue widgets your are best to go for a channel that represents what you offer. So if you can get a youtube channel called Blue Widgets, go for it! Once you have setup a youtube channel the link will be something like: youtube . com / bluewidgets. When ever you post videos and they get shared around the web this will be the link the search engines will see.
YouTube Video Quality
When recording your YouTube video it is best to get your videos set up so they match the youtube recommended settings as this will make them show as clearly as possible. If you can try and record your video in HD then they will appear much better than a standard video. But bear in mind that HD videos require more bandwith, so if your customers are not likely to have fast internet connections or are likely to be mobile workers then consider a normal video.
What to Publish
You can create a video on absolutely anything for you tube, the more individual the better! If you can’t think of anything original or dont fancy doing something mad in front of the camera then just add what ever you have. Do you have Sales Literature or Presentations? Can you show a Software Demonstration or Training Video? To highlight this I have uploaded a short video of an alivewalls presentation today at: youtube . com / alivewalls.
How to Record a YouTube Video
I am no expert at recording videos for Youtube but what I can share with you are the little tips and tricks that I have discovered that help me. I have created a fair few Software Videos and Demonstrations in my time and have found a very helpful software product that can record your screen and allow you to annotate and add your voice, it’s called Wink and available here: debugmode . com.
You don’t always need to use to video to create a YouTube video! Sometimes your PowerPoint presentations or a serious of images can work. I use Windows Movie Maker to do this and simply drag and drop any images i need into the video. I am happy to talk to people about this and any other aspect of Internet Marketing, just call us and ask for Chris or email chris [at] alivewalls.com.
