Keyword Analysis

When you choose your list of keywords and phrases it is important to examine the list carefully.  We’ve covered some terms to try and avoid in a previous post on search terms, but there are other equally as important things to consider when choosing keywords to get people to your website…

Look at your list or terms that are very broad.  Don’t go after the high ranking keywords just because they are high ranking, they may not be as productive for you as some lower ranking words and phrases.  What is important here is to go for te keywords and phrases that serve your website the best; make sure people are really searching for them when they look for a site like yours.

You also need to know that the keywords you’ve targeted are relevant.  It’s no good opting to choose words like guitar if you’re trying to sell guitar tuition.  Anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar will not be typing in the keyword “guitar” because this would lead to a volley of websites trying to sell you one wouldn’t it?  The keyphrase here would be “guitar tution”  not “guitar”, or “tuition”.

This may seem like a silly thing to concentrate on but believe me it works, and it could save you a lot of time and money in getting writing done for your website when you need only pick the right keywords and phrases.
