Do Keyword Specific Domains Rank Better in Google?
I have been doing some research lately into the minefield that is keyword specifc domain names. Google always denies that keyword domain names have a better chance of ranking higher and it’s algorithms do not use this. From my research it appears that keyword specific domains do seem to fair slightly better but I think this is down to the anchor text rather than the domain name itself.
If you are linking to a site without a keyword specific domain name you are less likely to use the keyword in the link anchor text, however, if you are linking to a keyword specific domain the chances are that you will.
Here are a few examples of keyword specific domains in action:
Keyword: Web Based Recruitment Software Domain: WebBasedRecruitmentSoftware.com
Keyword: Free Recruitment Software Domain: FreeRecruitmentSoftware.net
Keyword: Recruitment Websites Domain: RecruitmentWebsites.org
Keyword: Recruitment Databases Domain: RecruitmentDatabases.com
