Always Check your Links
When you have finally started to build up a link exchange campaign and you think it’s going quite well, it is important to keep a good check on it to make sure that everything is as it should be. Sometimes people change their websites and forget to put you back in, or you end up in an obscure place where no-one can see you…
Now it’s important not to think that this is deliberate. You can become paranoid about linking if you’re not too careful. These people who have misplaced you or hidden you away have probably done it by accident or they have completely forgotten; to many webmasters a list of reciprocal links may not be the top on their list of priorities. This is unfortunate i know, but it is something that happens, so you must make it on the top of your list of priorities once you begin to get links.
You need to check that the keywords and phrases you’ve requested are being used, and also whether or not they are linking to the correct page on your website; it is important to note here that this can also be your own fault, and you would be surprised at the amount of people who have become quite cross because their page is no longer linked, only to find out that they themselves deleted the page that the link is supposed to go to.
